So I'm home from my first tour in Ponoka, which is where i'm doing my ambulance practicum. I've learnt so much already! I'm quite excited to become a registered EMT. I'm staying with a sweet old lady named Nelly that my mom found through her connections within the United Church. It's alittle awkward living with her, but I'll manage. She keeps to herself, and I keep to myself. My preceptor's are great. 2 young fellows (around my age) who seem to enjoy the small town life. They are both eager to teach me as much as they know, and seem to have an infinite amount of patience with my silly questions. I get 50% discount at Mcdonalds, which keeps me healthy and full. And i look forward to purchasing a laptop, so i can play minesweeper during my down time at the ambulance hall. I head back on Saturday morning for my next tour (the term for a 4 days shift) which i'm already excited about.
Hope all is well elsewhere, take care everyone.
and remember, seatbelts save lives.
